Affordable Housing and Development Advisory Committee
Creston’s Affordable Housing Development and Advisory Committee (AHDC) reviews potential policies and plans before they go to Council for decision. They provide Council with recommendations based on the their wide scope of collective experiences to help increase the Town’s supply of housing. They also collaborate with local organizations, housing developers, and others to find new ways to create affordable housing. The AHDC provides a forum for community leaders in the housing space to discuss and bring forward new ideas and collaborate in meeting Creston’s housing goals.
The committee may also be responsible for developing initiatives to increase awareness about affordable housing issues and encourage public involvement in addressing the affordable housing crisis. This may include organizing public forums, presenting educational programs, and working with local media to promote affordable housing solutions.
